I am gold because being blue seriously hinders one in using this as a networking tool. You are hindered in your posts. You cannot place links in many areas. You now could not post videos if you so desired. You are limited in what you can do on the Dashboard. I went gold to make connections and build a network and also to build a business. Blue hinders that effort. Someday it may cease to be important to me to be gold, but at this point in time for the purposes of business, gold is important to me.

Paul, Swom had a hard time with me for at least 6 months getting me to upgrade; I don't know if you know this but months ago Free members could roam the entire site and post links and not worry about that -5 for each one if the member wasn't worried about upgrading. I wasn't. I laughed at Gold members silently while they were understandably hesitant to post links, and eat up their points (and commissions), while I posted them as much as I wished! "Ha! That shows you to waste upgrading!" I quietly mocked upgraded members. LOL I had a member who harassed me on my wall for several days during my tenure as a Blue, posting defaming remarks, like this one, calling me "a pathetic human being for not being able to afford twenty-five bucks to upgrade".
But then this past October, Swom began enforcing daily profile limits views. A member needs to be able to view a profile to send a connection request! This "daily limits dragon" doesn't really blow harmful flames when it appears but after a few profile views that "dragon" just covers any other profile a Blue member tries to view that day with a notice to upgrade, and the member can easily ignore it and move on to another unrestricted area...or the member might upgrade at that moment! It's nothing threatening and certainly wouldn't cause any sane member to quit Swom. If Swom designed it to get me to upgrade, it worked within a day or two after it was introduced.

I am a retired aged pensioner and joined SWOM in July 2010 and up grade to gold 1st August 2010 and force to blue in September 2010 because no enough points to maintain my gold. Then I up graded in October 2010. I have enough time to swom everyday. If I don't swom I feel sleepy.
